Fuel efficiency is a topic of interest for many drivers. As a public service to current and prospective customers we include some tips here to help cut down on fuel expenses. Tips include:
Use discretion in your selection of lower-octane gasoline: One obvious way to minimize fuel costs is to purchase the lowest grade or octane of gasoline that the car’s manufacturer recommends. Unless peak performance is the only basis for selecting fuel when you fill up, be aware that pricier fuels won’t boost your automobile’s fuel economy. And if the grade of gas selected meets the manufacturer’s recommendations then paying more at the pump will not be justifiable for many car owners.
Tighten up the gas cap: Gas can evaporate from a vehicle’s tank if it has an escape. To minimize this potential occurrence check to ensure the tank’s cap remains snug. According to the Car Care Council, loose, missing or damaged gas caps result in as much as 140 million gallons of gas to evaporate each year.
Park in the shade: Where you park can make a difference. Evaporative fuel emissions can be accelerated when vehicles are left in the sun for an extended period. Even a windshield shade can help reduce the vehicle’s interior temperature and contribute to the overall goal.
Keep a close eye on your tire pressure: Digital gauges are often recommended and can be kept in your vehicle’s glove box. The recommended tire pressure for your vehicle can typically be found in the owner’s manual or the label in your car door. Check the tire’s inflation at least once a month and ideally when the tires are cold.
Use the recommended oil: It’s reported that drivers can improve their car’s gas mileage by a percent or two just by using the manufacturer’s recommended grade of motor oil. Consult your owner’s manual for direction concerning your vehicle. Some motor oils contain the label “energy conserving” on the label which can mean the oil contains friction-reducing additives.

About Denver
The City and County of Denver is the capital and the most populous city of the state of Colorado, in the United States. Denver is a consolidated city-county located in the South Platte River Valley on the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The Denver downtown district is located immediately east of the confluence of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, approximately 15 miles (24 km) east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile, or 5,280 feet (1,609 m) above sea level. The 105th meridian west of Greenwich passes through Union Station, making it the reference point for the Mountain Time Zone. The city of Denver's area is much smaller than that of Colorado's second most populous city, Colorado Springs.
